Anyhoo, algorithm worked its magic and I discovered his 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival entry: Strange Frequencies! MMFF is annual film festival in the Philippines, usually during the Christmas season (cmiiw!)
Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital
This movie is about these celebrities / content creators who explores Xinglin Hospital. It's an abandoned hospital in Taiwan for more or less 20 years now, and their agenda is to get a MILLION views while livestreaming their horror adventure. If that's not intriguing, then what is!? Plus, they'll be filming everything with GoPros, so it's an 'experience-horror' genre that's getting me excited and insane right now!
Fun fact too is: Strange Frequencies is the PH adaptation of the 2018 Korean movie Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum— a box office hit! So I really got GREAT expectations, even more that it's produced by the “Master of Horror” Erik Matti and veteran filmmaker Ronald “Dondon” Monteverde of Reality MM Studios 👏
So, if you want to scream all the stress from the year away (because I need and I will!), Strange Frequencies will help us with that this Christmas! You won't want to watch this alone, so gather the fam and friends, go to the cinema and enjoy some horror on Christmas 😱
The past few months have been really eventful, but I'm on here to share 2 of the recent events in my city that got me busy~ I don't have that many affairs to begin with (and maybe, from now on), so I really appreciate getting these invites, especially as I way to get outside the house! 🤭
Big Bad Wolf Books Back in CDO!
Soooo yes, Big Bad Wolf Books was here last Feb, and it was really cool to have experienced it after only seeing it online. I don't think I'm that big of a reader anymore, but a trip to the bookstore is always fun for me! My visit even earned me ₱500 voucher:
Fast forward to November, on my Korea trip (yes, again and again, forever 🤣), I got some happy email!
It's amazing they started AND ended 2024 in Cagayan de Oro 👏 Again, I've always seen this big book event in social media, and I even have friends who traveled to Cebu or Davao to visit it, and look how they finally ended up in CDO, not just once but TWICE.
The location was still the same at the 5th floor of SM CDO Downtown, and this time, it ran from Dec 6th to Dec 16th. Thankfully, the VIP Day was on the 5th because I wouldn't be available the next couple days~ Anw, here were the books that caught my eye that day!
Ses and I also got to see each other this day— I got home from SK on the 3rd, so this was really perfect timing~ And would you look at what I bought:
I wouldn't say I'm an insomniac, but I srsly sleep very late (or early in the morning, actually) and this habit needs to be STOPPED. My revenge bedtime procrastination is too severe, and maybe this book will help 🤞 I'll add in the rest of my haul later when I get to take proper photos!
CDO Bloggers Sweet 16th X Christmas Party
And here's to my only Christmas party this year! (Holiday parties be the only thing I miss about working in a office...) It's a double celebration too! I didn't get to see much of this bunch for this year, and it's niceu to get together with familiar faces. I think this will continue next year though, so see yall around!
The theme really reminded me of SNSD's Kissing You, and I even wanted to do a short dance cover, but I think there's a time and place for everything, so...
Anyhoo, I got the Bubblegum Content Creator Award, which is just too cute OMGGGG the other awards were aptly and cutely named too, like ses's award was Pastel Presence. Just so fitting for the Sweet 16th candy party 🍭
